fire cupping: it’s like a warm hug for your body
Picture this: small glass cups placed on your skin and heated to create a gentle soothing suction. This Eastern Medicine technique helps with muscle tension, pain relief, relaxation and improved circulation. The suction releases tension and encourages the flow of energy (Qi) through the body. And those circular marks left behind? They’re just a sign that it’s working!
Whether you’re seeking relief from aches and pains or you just want to unwind and recharge, wellbe’s Fire Cupping could be your ticket to a healthier, happier you!
moxibustion: the magic of heat therapy
As a type of heat therapy, moxibustion at wellbe will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside and out! This technique involves burning a small, aromatic herb called mugwort near the skin (but not touching!) - specifically over meridians and powerful acupuncture points. This gentle heat enhances circulation, boosts the flow of energy and provides much needed relief including pain and digestion issues. A deeply relaxing treatment that leaves you feeling rejuvenated and balanced.
Silicone Cupping: a versatile, dynamic treatment
Using soft, flexible silicone cups instead of glass, this technique creates a gentle suction on the skin promoting circulation, relieving muscle tension and pain. The flexibility of the silicone cups allows for dynamic movement of the cups around the body to target various areas of pain and discomfort. Silicone cupping also improves lymphatic drainage and detoxifies the body helping with chronic pain, inflammation and stress relief.
Ear Seeding: tiny seeds with BIG benefits
Need a way to keep those acu vibes and energy flowing after treatment? Ear seeding is the perfect solution! This unique and effective form of acupressure uses tiny seeds placed on specific points of the ear to stimulate healing throughout the body. After your relaxing session, our skilled Acupuncturists will place seeds on various points in the ear to maintain and enhance the positive effects of treatment, keeping those feel good vibes going strong.

Your first acupuncture visit at wellbe will undoubtedly leave you feeling relaxed + rejuvenated! But before you walk away on a cloud, expect a comprehensive health history assessment where your concerns are heard and addressed. It’s all about you! Our skilled practitioners will ask questions that may seem unrelated to your chief concern, but they are crucial for understanding your body's overall interactions, which are key to accurate diagnosis and treatment. Sometimes, the practitioner may also examine your tongue or feel your pulse to help determine the flow of energy and your body’s state of balance.
After the consultation and assessment, a personalized treatment protocol is devised tailored to your needs and goals. Then it’s onto relaxation! While in our comfortable setting, our practitioners will work their magic. The tiny needles are virtually painless and are placed at specific points to stimulate healing and balance. Many people find the experience deeply relaxing and rejuvenating.

Because the goal of acupuncture is to promote and restore the balance of energy, the benefits of acupuncture can extend to a wide range of conditions from musculoskeletal conditions (TMJ, neck and back pain, knee, ankle, elbow, etc) to emotional disorders (anxiety, stress, depression) to digestive complaints (nausea, IBS, reflux). It can also be used to treat degenerative conditions such as chronic pain or arthritis and inflammatory conditions such as sinusitis. Labour preparation, induction and fertility acupuncture is also effective with acupuncture.
According to the National Cancer Institute, several studies show that acupuncture can help boost immunity and speed up recovery following cancer treatments. -
Acupuncturist's treat the root of the problem and not just the symptoms. Relieving pain and supporting the body’s ability to heal itself are the goals of treatment. Pain is reduced because the needles promote the release of endorphins, as well as increase the movement of blood, relaxing tissues and optimizing the nervous system.

Typically the first acupuncture visit involves a comprehensive health history assessment. The questions may seem unrelated to the chief concern or complaint, but they are relevant to the entire body’s interactions which are the key to diagnosis and treatment. Sometimes, the practitioner may ask to examine your tongue or feel your pulse to help determine energy flow and body’s state of balance.
After the consultation and assessment, a treatment protocol is devised. -
After treatment you should feel calm, relaxed and maybe a bit sleepy. Some people feel more energetic. The responses vary depending on the type of treatment and your current state of health. The effects are cumulative and each treatment builds on the last. A typical treatment plan may look like this: 1-2 timer a week for 6-8 treatments followed by monthly maintenance treatments for a period of time, however this varies from patient to patient.
