Meet

Samantha Reid

Social Worker and Psychotherapist, bookworm and community activist

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to my sunset sky.”

This quote perfectly reflects Samantha’s outlook on life and therapy. It reminds her that challenges bring growth and richness to our experiences, and she’s dedicated to helping clients see their own struggles as opportunities for transformation.

As a Canadian woman of Trinidadian and Bajan descent, Samantha values the power of storytelling and culture, seeing them as tools for healing, connection, and advocacy. She brings this perspective into her work with couples, BIPOC clients, and diverse communities.

Samantha’s passion for helping others began early, volunteering at 14 with homeless shelters, non-profit organizations, and mental health centers. Before becoming a therapist, she supported students with autism, ODD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and young dancers facing body image challenges. Her journey through social work has always been about creating change, one step at a time.

In recent years, Samantha has expanded her practice across clinical and school-based settings. She has provided individual and group counselling for children, teens, and adults, facilitated programs for mental health re-engagement in schools, and offered support to survivors of gender-based violence. She also integrates narrative and somatic-informed practices to promote self awareness, empowerment and coping skills.

Samantha’s approach is warm, compassionate, and trauma-informed, with sensitivity to the ways individual experiences intersect with systemic injustices. Whether she’s working with couples, families, or young people, her goal is simple: to help clients find meaning, resilience, and strength in every challenge they face.
