“My therapist just gets me”… is exactly what wellbe social worker and therapist, Rachel strives to hear from her patients after every session. Rachel believes having a genuine connection to her clients is the most important part to any therapeutic relationship.
Equipped with a Master’s degree in Social Work and specializing in children, teens, and their families, Rachel has supported patients from diverse walks of life and in various settings including schools, shelters, and children’s mental health agencies.
Rachel integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and Play Therapy. Rachel believes that when working with children, counseling using creative play is more than just a fun way to connect with her little patients, it’s also an effective window into children’s feelings, thoughts, and experiences which provides an opportunity to support children - meeting them where they are at.
Rachel uses a caring, strength-based, and non-judgmental approach with clients and employs mindfulness strategies whenever she can, creating a calm, grounding environment that optimizes the therapeutic experience.
Her priority is to help clients feel safe, supported, understood and empowered.
